This distance may also be modified should a second existing installation be in close proximity in order to maintain a symmetrical appearance. The aluminum post must be absolutely perpendicular to the ground and have a 24" deep concrete foundation per USPS specifications. Application of these rules will present an end product that falls well within the guidelines established by the U.S. Postal Service.

Responsibilities and remedies:

Failure of the vendor to be in non-compliance with any portion of the aforementioned criteria will result in installation rejection. It will then be the sole responsibility of the vendor to correct the problem(s) and there upon being in full compliance with the requirements outlined in this specification.

Supplemental Notes:

1 . Upon installation, total responsibility for the maintenance and care of the mailbox becomes that of the property owner, no matter         whose property on which the mailbox is installed.

2.  The items of most importance in the ongoing effort to maintain the uniformity of our mailboxes are mechanical condition, color,            oxidation level, and vertical alignment. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is responsible for the enforcement of these            standards and guidelines. Photos outlining both acceptable and nonacceptable installation can be found on the Unit2 Website.

3.   Both of the approved suppliers offer services to refurbish mailbox installations at a charge.

4.   The property owner on whose property his and another property owner's mailbox is installed is requested to make certain that            their sprinkler system does not spray directly on the mailboxes involved. This is a necessary step to protect the mailboxes from            oxidation.
